When I was a kid...
I'm turning 40 in a couple of months, yikes! So I'm getting a little reminescent of my childhood in the 70's and things that made me smile. I have many fond memories. Swimming until my hair turned green, swim team, Fisher Price Little People, Sunshine Family Dolls, Barbies, camping, Bazooka bubblegum, playing house and school, my Big Wheel, hula hoop, little pizzas, Koolaid, popsicles, fudgcicles, creamsicles... It would be 110 degrees outside, but I didn't care, it didn't faze me. All the kids would be outside, playing with sticks and dirt. I would collect those black beetle bugs and put them in the jar. I caught hundreds of them. One day I decided to play God and smash them... That was a bit mean of me.

Nim's Island
Today I am taking the girls to see Nim's Island (Harkins Summer Movie Pack). We have seen it many times but it's a great movie. Plus, I bought some crap - Kit Kats, Reese's PB cups, and Red Vines to smuggle in.
Margaritaville
Volcano Nachos - 8.95
There is no picture available, but seriously this is HUGE and feeds 2-4 people. Cool atmosphere too.

The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver
I just finished this last night. It was really good. It's about a girl from Kentucky who's main goal in life is to get out of Kentucky without getting pregnant. She drives a beat up car west and decides to stop until it breaks down. Along the way she inherits a little girl, she calls Turtle. Turtle has evidence of sexual abuse, she's only 2-3 years old and catatonic. Together they continue on the road, with no real plan. The beat up car breaks down in Tucson near a "Jesus is Lord" tire shop, where she puts down roots and friendships develop. Out of 5 stars I give it 3.5. Bean Trees
